Hey everybody, it’s been some time…

While I don’t have a new podcast to post, I do have some news:
We made a horror movie!!! (sort of)

We’ve always talked about doing a little video project for fun, and finally we found some inspiration in the form of a contest at http://www.chillertv.com

To make a long story short, we made a short film (5 mins) and we need everyone to go vote for us starting this Friday, the 21st of September! Wish us luck!

You saw it, we saw it, seems like the WHOLE WORLD saw it. So let’s talk some Spiderman 3 !!!!!

And in the spirit of a Sam Raimi film, we play the “Bruce Campbell or Ted Raimi” game - play along at home!

Hey kids, the MasterCritic Podcast is back, and this time we mean business!!! (or something)

Even though nobody else in the country took notice, Grindhouse was released and we at MasterCritic.com took in the experience and loved every second of it.

PLUS, we bring you an actual early review! It’s a legitimate sneak-peak, and you may only find it here! Seriously, we saw a movie early… REAL early.

So we’re slowly coming back online. The new site is coming along slower than expected (so many distractions) so I decided to bring back the ole’ wordpress blog until then. That text site looked pretty ghastly.

The games podcast is still alive and kickin’ — Their old site still needs some TLC but you can access it here for now:

hey guys/gals - sorry to keep everyone waiting so long. it’s been pretty busy - not to mention that i turned 30 and am somewhere in the midst of a minor mid-life crisis…

We have an episode recorded from a couple weeks ago that we’re eventually going to poop out onto the web. After that, it may be slow going for a while.

It basically comes down to us not being able to commit the time necessary to watch movies and keep up with the show weekly. To be fair to you listeners, I think it’s better at this time to take a break.

Keep watching the site for exciting changes and the “lost episode” to appear. Ideally, I’d love to spend a few weeks retooling the site, adding forums, etc — making it easier for you guys to contribute and build a community. Then I’d love to do reviews without always having a formal weekly show. Maybe we would post a couple video reviews a week that are streamed from the site, etc. We could then still do hour long shows for weeks where the movies are worthy, or we have a lot to say. Special editions maybe? I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts and ideas.

In the meantime, keep watching movies and send us your thoughts. We’re still alive and still love movies, we just need a break.

Oh, and go watch the 300 if you can stomach the relentless gore and style. It was great!

With a funny host and half the run-time this year’s oscar telecast would have been fantastic - as is though, I’m VERY pleased with the results. SCORSESE GETS HIS OSCAR, and The Departed wins best picture!

I would have flipped out had Babel won - I saw it over the weekend - what a mess. We’ll talk about this and more next week on the movie podcast.

Congrats to all the winners! Finally, an oscar telecast that doesn’t leave me feeling sick to my stomach!

(will ferrell, jack black, and john c reilly stole the show early on - and what happened to ellen?? she used to be so funny - bring back billy crystal and the opening movie skits!)

I also had a strong showing in my traditional oscar contest with my wife - i predicted 71% of the awards. Sorry we didn’t have the annual mastercritic.com contest giveaway - it’s been busy. Hope everyone enjoyed the oscars.
